Spring

This was the poem that we were each asked to write one-line for. I kept the basic meaning of each line, just tweaked it so that I could work in a rhyme scheme.

Spring always brings back memories of that day

I can’t get rid of what happened, that’s to say

The fateful day, I have tried to forget

For those dreadful events will not let

All the pain, all the grief

Summer shall bring a great relief

Mixed feelings of regret and remorse

Now I can’t even recall the source

What aches and tugs and ruins all

I cannot seem to even recall

For now this memory has escaped me

I shall no longer pass my grief onto thee.

It is spring time and all should be happy
